As it is a learning app, instead of making the app colourful and joyous, I gave it a neutral colour. Something that will remind you of dictionary. The simplicity helps you focus on solely the information.
The design is also compatible with dark-mode which is easy on your eyes and can also reduce energy consumption.

Dark Mode
Using dark grey instead of pure black as the base colour, with different levels of greys for cards and layers. White for main buttons so it stands out the most.
